Hooray for Cultural Connections 6.0!

Cultural Connections 6.0 was a great success and was a wonderful evening of connection, commitment, and celebration! We sold out weeks before the gathering and were happy to welcome well over 200 people to Centro Villa 25 for a night of friendship, celebration, and fundraising. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, guests, and bidders on our Fund-A-Need “auction,” we raised $200,000 which will equip us to help the immigrant families who turn to us for assistance for six months.

Centro Villa 25 was a  delightful venue with beautiful shops and delicious food from various Latino countries. We listened to the music of a Congolese choir and a Syrian-American band, were educated and inspired by Steve Volk, Professor Emeritus from Oberlin College, and watched a video that highlighted the courage and resilience of immigrants and the work AMIS is doing with them.

Our guests expressed great appreciation for the opportunity to gather with people who care about our basic humanity and want to respond compassionately to the immigration crisis.  It was such a meaningful evening that we’re already looking ahead to next year’s gathering. We’re integrating feedback we’ve received from this year’s guests to make it an even more wonderful event. Stay tuned to our website in early 2027 for more information!
