Thanks to the expertise of Attorney Jathaniel Shao and Pastor Luis Vizcarrando and to the generosity of AMIS and Fairmount Presbyterian donors, Alex was able to be released from the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center (NEOCC) in Youngstown on Wednesday, May 27, by posting a bond of $10,000. Pastor Luis and Bob Dunn from AMIS/NEOFI picked him up to take him home to his wife and three children. On Thursday, Pastor Luis had to take him to the ICE Field office to get an ankle monitor; he will have to check-in there once a month and a “social worker” from ICE will visit his home once a month. ICE will try to make his freedom as unpleasant as possible.  But, we are thrilled that he is out of jail and can start healing from 11 months in detention.
