Help Support Immigrant Healthcare

DONATE TODAY

Many of us are very fortunate to have received a third stimulus check during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Did you know that only immigrants with Social Security numbers (SSN) living and working in the United States can receive this stimulus check. This includes resident aliens, green card holders, DACA-recipients, and workers with H-1B and H-2A visas. The immigrants AMIS supports, such as Juana and her family or Jonas, do not fit into this category. Those who have not yet applied for DACA also are excluded. AMIS has also begun to get requests to cover some health care needs, including a full set of dentures, lab work, and mental health services.  Undocumented immigrants are not entitled to Medicaid.  If you are in the position to do so, might you consider donating some of your third stimulus check to AMIS? The funding we receive goes to support our mission of “inspiring hope and contributing to the well-being of immigrants and families as they seek legal status in the United States by assisting with resources for legal services, education, basic living expenses, and self-sufficiency.” Hopefully someday soon we will be able to have an in-person fundraiser – where we see each other and share a smile and a laugh. Until then I hope you can contribute electronically using the link below. We will be sure to share with you updates on how your donation impacts the lives of our immigrant friends.
